Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is set to retake a key committee position in the upcoming Congress, VTDigger reports. Sanders told NBC News that Americans want meaningful reform, not tinkering around the edges, and urged Democrats to pass Medicare for All. He also warned that the party cannot focus solely on Trump investigations while preparing to govern. Progressive organizers credit Sanders’s persistent governance plan for the comeback, noting his persistent lobbying of party leaders. Sanders insisted the focus must remain on health care and economic justice rather than endless investigations.
