Hundreds of mourners gathered at St Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney to farewell police constable Mia Lay, 20, who died in a car crash while on duty. She was posthumously awarded honours at the funeral service.

In the Beau Lamarre-Condon murder trial, a detective broke down in court while giving evidence about the discovery of victims. The moment drew a reaction from people in the courtroom. Separately, hundreds came to Bondi Beach for a vigil held to mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023. The gathering stood in remembrance as the anniversary was marked across the city.
